Become a certified scuba tank inspector in one day with the PSI-PCI Visual Cylinder Inspection (VCI) course at Gold Coast Scuba in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. Professional Scuba Inspectors' core program covers the regulations and fundamentals of visually inspecting solid-wall and composite SCUBA and SCBA cylinders, with hands-on practice on real tanks.
What you'll learn
- Cylinder types, markings and materials (steel, aluminum and composite)
- How to find corrosion, damage and wear, and when a cylinder should not be filled
- Inspecting threads, the cylinder neck and valve interface
- The regulations and standards that apply to cylinder inspectors
Course details
- Length: full day
- Who can take it: anyone 16 or older; no prior inspection experience needed
- Certification: PSI-PCI Visual Cylinder Inspector, valid for 3 years per federal training requirements
- Included: training materials and manuals ($30 value) and PSI-PCI registration ($50 value)
