Diving in a current can feel like flying underwater, and with the Gulf Stream offshore, many South Florida boat dives are drift dives. In the PADI Drift Diver course, you'll learn drift diving techniques from an experienced instructor.
What you'll learn
- Planning drift dives and boat pickup procedures
- Buoyancy control and navigation in a current
- Using surface signaling equipment, including an SMB
- Buddy communication while drifting
Prerequisites
- PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver certification or higher
- Minimum age 12

Living coral reefs start right off the sand, and wrecks like the historic SS Copenhagen are close by, so you train in real South Florida conditions with an experienced PADI Instructor.
