Nestled in the middle of the Atlantic, the Azores are wild, otherworldly, and untouched—a paradise for those who crave real adventure. With five days of world-class diving, unforgettable wildlife encounters, and curated island experiences, this is the kind of trip people dream about.

HORTA - FAIAL ISLAND

Our home base for the expedition is perched above the iconic Port of Horta on Faial Island—a place where sailors, scientists, and storytellers have gathered for centuries. This harbor isn’t just beautiful—it’s legendary. With its mosaic of painted murals left by passing sailors and its vibrant marina scene, Horta is one of the most famous ports in the Atlantic.

The town itself is charming and walkable, filled with cozy cafés, seaside restaurants, and a palpable sense of history. You’ll be steps away from both local culture and jaw-dropping natural beauty—think volcanic calderas, lush hiking trails, and views that stretch all the way to Pico’s towering peak across the water. It’s the perfect mix of adventure, relaxation, and that unmistakable Azorean magic.

DIVE OPERATIONS

We’re diving with our trusted local partners at Sea Riders Dive Center—on a fully private boat reserved just for our crew. This is not your typical tourist operation. No crowded decks, no rushed schedules—just space to breathe, time to explore, and the freedom to dive at our pace.

Led by experienced local captains and a passionate crew who know these waters intimately, every outing is rooted in safety, skill, and a deep love for the ocean. Whether it’s your first blue water dive or your hundredth, you’ll feel supported, stoked, and in seriously good hands.

COASTAL DIVING

Drift through volcanic reef systems teeming with Azorean color and life. From dramatic swim-throughs to secret caves and sudden walls, this is the kind of diving that reminds you how big the world really is—and how lucky we are to explore it. Truly a unique, world class, destination.

SHARK DIVING

Slip into the deep blue and come face-to-face with one of the ocean’s most graceful predators—the blue shark. Sleek, curious, and often misunderstood, these sharks move with a kind of quiet power that’s nothing short of mesmerizing.

This is a carefully managed, respectful dive led by professionals who prioritize safety, education, and the experience of being truly present with wildlife. You’ll leave with a whole new appreciation for the beauty and intelligence of these incredible animals—and a story that sticks with you forever.

OFFSHORE DIVING - PRINCESS ALICE BANK

This is the crown jewel of Azorean diving. Located 45 nautical miles offshore, Princess Alice Bank is a submerged seamount that rises from the depths of the Atlantic to within 95 feet of the surface—creating an oasis of life in the open ocean. These nutrient-rich waters attract a spectacular range of pelagic species.  As a major stop on migratory routes, Princess Alice is a gathering place for life on the move—wild, raw, and completely unforgettable.

Every dive here feels like a front-row seat to nature’s grandest show—fast-paced, wide-open, and alive with energy.

WHALE WATCHING

This is where giants roam. From sperm whales to playful pods of dolphins, the waters around Horta are a migratory highway. Guided by local marine biologists, we take you where the action is—ethically, respectfully, and always in awe. 

SUNSET & BEERS BOAT TRIP

Sometimes the best adventures are simple. A golden Azorean sunset. Local beer. The sea breeze. Stories and laughter with your crew as the sun slips beneath the Atlantic. Good times & even better views.

ISLAND TOUR

Take a day to explore Faial from above the waterline. From the lunar landscapes of Capelinhos Volcano to the sweeping views from Caldeira crater, this tour shows you the heart of the island. Expect epic views, hidden gems, and local flavors.

ACCOMODATION

Enjoy your own private room in a boutique, ocean-themed guesthouse perched above Horta’s stunning harbor, with sweeping views of Pico Volcano rising across the water. Just a short walk to town and directly across the street from our dive shop, it’s the perfect base for both adventure and relaxation. Spacious shared areas offer cozy hangouts, and the whole space is designed with comfort, style, and sea-loving vibes in mind.

Flights to and from the Azores are not included in the package.

INSURANCE

Travel insurance is not included but highly recommended for all participants. Diving insurance is not included and it is mandatory for all participants.

João is an award-winning wildlife filmmaker, National Geographic Explorer, and internationally published photojournalist with a background in marine biology.
